Several of these weapons are inspired by particular women, or specific situations. Others are reactions to the feelings of anger, frustration, powerlessness or fear that are familiar to nearly all women living within a largely patriarchal framework. Without knowing how to show these feelings, my grandmother would go out to the garage to pound nails into a piece of wood. Two generations later, I am doing the same and showing the results.
